WhenI first started drawing I learned by tracing other people's art. I was an idiot and tried passing it off for my own so I'm glad noone caught on and banned me, eventually I started mimicing, not tracing but redrawing it freehand. Oddly enough this is when someone clamed I was tracing and yelled at me. Some time from then till now I stopped this habbit and drew everything from scratch.
Now I'm in a major art block. I don't think my art is good and I lost my pride as an artist, so I should be trying to learn and practice more, and on top of that these artists are the reason I started drawing and continue drawing. I like their art so copying them made me like my art, I like how my versions came out, especially Mr. Hato (The second one). Neaturally I can see everything that is "wrong" with mine, but the things that stayed similar is jsut my style hiding between them (My heads for instance are always a bit rounder/squarer than what it's suppost to be except for the last one because I was overcompensation)
Anyways, these three characters from top to bottom belong to Takaku Nozomu, Tsukasa Matsuzaki, and whoever drew for Tatemasu. (I think it's Jin or Jamboree due to the similar style, but have no real conformation)

I was doing more, it was just that school messed me up. I felt I was a lot better at thinking and creating art before I started College. I admit I did improve in some aspects, but overall I feel a lot less motivated to do anything because I'm to overcritical. I got to used to Critique and having to please others that I forgot I actually do this as a hobby. The picture I made for you was fun and I did try my hardest on that one and I do like how it came out so I "know" I'm not bad it's jut I feel like I stagnated and am trying to pick up where i was.
What sunspots said =3 You don't need to feel bad about it, if at some point you were able to separate from that and actually drew on your own, then it means the potential is inside you... "talent" is just a fancy word for the potential shown over the years, and dude... you certainly got it, remember that ^^!
