I think ya did fine with the gut. This is more how I image it would look as opposed to the face/paw imprint effect. The important part is that there's someone in there. :3

Thanks! I do like visible face and paw prints showing through. Just depends on the style mostly. If I were to go into same size full bulging bellies though, they might look more styled towards my inspirations. And ah, yes. Someone is in there keeping the hunger at bay.
