Made for Wolf-Wind's Autumn contest on Deviant Art.

Autumn for me is a spiritual time, a time of reflection of food and of family and friends. Autumn is the time that things begin to die off to make way for winter, where people collect their last harvests and celebrate. It is also a time of life, as many trees remain green for a long time and there are still even flowers out. Every autumn I find myself thinking upon my family and warm memories of holiday gatherings long since gone.
I am new to the north, born and raised in Florida, so I don't have the negative opinion of snow, leaves and cold that many of the people up here have, but I find myself fascinated by the changes.
Symbols: The Dreamcatcher concept, well, closer to the protective Mandala symbol of the Native Americans, I really can't call it either as it is not done to tradition on either aspect, but it is more of a protective thing in my opinion, a symbol of the spirit of autumn and the connectedness of all things.
The Leaves, the black crow feather, symbolic of death and of old things leaving to make way for the new. Death is a beautiful thing when you can look past the sadness in it.
The white feather (hard to see it is white, but it is) a symbol of life.
The flowers, a symbol of new life still being gifted to the world to this day even though the cold is so close to arriving.
The many dark brown duck feathers, a symbol of family. Neither group has less than two.
The sprig of evergreen is a symbol of the life that is everlasting through the winter. As the oaks and maples retreat inwards for the winter the pines stand strong as stark reminders that life will go on.
The corn is a symbol of the last harvests, celebration and family that happens on the holidays, especially of Thanksgiving.
After reading Cycius' refsheet, I realized he would be a perfect candidate to show what autumn means to me, due to his wise, nature oriented personality.
The eyes are made of yellow stones. It can't really be seen well.
