The sun peered through the open window, basking the room in a warm light. You groaned, the nubs that once were your magnificent wings stretching alongside your arms. Before you could curl them back to your body the muscular arm of your beloved mate caught you, pulling you against him. He was a foot larger, well built, and more often than not wore the stern face that would scare a hungry wolf back into its den at a glance, but in the rare times you had him alone he wore the softest, kindest smile, a quirk that made you laugh back and forth. You two would tease each other, he at your lack of hunting skills, and you at his inability to read in English beyond "Go Dog Go". (He was completely fluent in his own , he wasn't stupid at all.)
He was built like a tank, and with claws bared was ready to destroy whatever reared his ugly head in either bravado or true protection. Either way you found it endearing. He was your other half and everything you needed and you were happy to admit that.
