This actually happened to me today, some woman literally bit my head off and blamed me for what Dylann Roof did at the AME Church last week.
No reasoning, no answer, SHE just went off like a bomb at me for no reason other than her own.
Still sickens me that the kid ALMOST didn't carry out what he did, cause those people in that church were actually nice to him. If anything positive came out of this, the wanted race war that Dylann wanted, didn't happen.

The worst part about this is how different groups and people keep coming up with all sorts of excuses, except the only reason this guy did this.
He's a racist little asshole, a dropout loser with no job, no prospects for a job, no intention of improving himself, just blame "Da blacks."
But we hear:
"He was on drugs!"
"He was on psychiatric drugs!"
"The government programmed him to kill!" (Heard that one from Alex Jones)
"He's part of the hate Christians groups!"
And this real dandy I've seen from several people:
"It was the victim/s own fault, since they didn't allow guns in their church!"

I can't agree with the anti-gun agenda...we live in a real world. The church as a gun-free zone? That I can agree with. I may not agree with many established religions but we live in a nation where, as long as they do not impinge on the rights of others, may freely worship.
Although there is a town in Texas which requires people to own and carry firearms (I don't know if this is still in effect). Check out dumblaws.com.
In an ideal world...we could say "I could kill you, but I won't, because it's wrong to do so," and it's not taken as a statement of egotism, but as a statement of one's own ethical code.
It's sad that even in the US we can't respect our own first amendment as it applies to others, or recognize when to say "enough" when their worship is actively threatening the rights of other individuals.

That town is actually Kennesaw, GA, who passed a law requiring that all heads-of-household own and maintain a functional firearm, unless they're prohibited from owning a gun, can't afford it, or have religious or moral objections against doing so. So the law is actually practically unenforceable. What's particularly interesting about their law, though, is that their crime rate dropped immediately after passing the law, even when compared to the national average, though neighboring Atlanta saw an increase in crime when they passed their anti-gun measures, which the Kennesaw law was a response to.
Looking for a town in Texas with similar laws leads me to Gun Barrel City, Texas, who passed a law that doesn't require, but supports heads of household owning a gun and ammunition, but doesn't even begin to suggest a requirement, much less actually change anything.

The very best justice for this punk is to let him into the general prison population. he will align with the skinheads, but will still be killed the first chance the prisoners have to get to him.
and yes, instead of the race war he wanted, he's getting race healing. the races coming together, not to observe their differences, but those things that make us all the same.
Like worshiping in a church. This will cause blacks and whites to worship the same God together, achieving the very thing hate failed to do. Love your neighbor. like the book says.

That's a good point, I suppose if someone is armed it's my duty to let them shoot me because it's my job? Or let them shoot other people, or cripple me or my partner? Maybe they're just pulling out guns because they want me to see what a cool gun they bought illegally after their previous auto theft convictions and the fact that the vehicle they're driving was reportedly carjacked is a system glitch. Clearly the human traffickers who throw big rocks at my head are only doing it to protect the Guatemalan woman that they 'allegedly' raped earlier from being returned to her country of origin after crossing two national borders illegally. Really they're all just good choir boys, never got in any trouble with the law despite their previous three associations with hard narcotics trafficking that weren't prosecuted because they were under 18 at the time.
I can go on, but seriously, you want to make these decisions, in fractions of a second when the wrong choice might mean your death, or the death of someone you're closer to than your own siblings, or a totally random stranger walking down the road? Apply, hack the academy, put on a uniform with a badge on it and patrol a beat.

I want to ask a question to clarify...
How many of those people were killed because the officer in question genuinely recognized a life-or-death threat to self or other individuals?
I say genuinely to specify actual scenarios which can be backed by physical evidence, not mere hearsay.
I do not wish to cast doubt on your statement, I'm actually curious.

Maybe I'm crazy but, regardless of the shooting. He's caught to be tried and sentenced. Fine. Justice served. here's what I want to know. WHERE DID HE GET THE WEAPON IN FIRST PLACE?!
If he didn't get the device to go on said shooting spree, it would have been just another whiny teen not happy. He gained access to one. From who? How?
I'm a firm believer in gun control ie (Both hands, a steady trigger squeeze and controlled breathing) which means as a responsible fire arm owner. I police and lock up my
property. This is the kind of crap that will help those "Guns are evil remove them" nutters thinking if the public is completely disarmed we'd all be safe

Maybe we need to register and license guns in the same way we register and license cars (maybe without requiring an insurance proof on top of all that). That even means allowing automatic weapons and allowing for background checks. Perhaps ballistic fingerprinting. I might also say that police should provide a voluntary appointment-based service to check and advise concerned citizens on their own gun security so that they could be shown on record to have provided their due diligence and been advised (without criminal penalties) of necessary measures they should take. Perhaps conceal-carry should not only require tactical training of permit holders, but also laws should require the availability of such training so people can handle themselves should a situation require lethal force.
