Well I wouldn't try to copy yours, but its such a unique thing that I can't help but think of it whilst drawing. I've managed to keep it original though :3 Art theives are dumb, burn them!

I'm ashamed to say that years ago I took an image and redrew it on another layer in photoshop, and uploaded it... but i really regret that... should I be burnt to?? I grew out of very quickly though, and I was quite young, it bothers me when people take the exact image, and post it, claiming it as their own, especially when they're like... over 25 years old. At least I never claimed that it was my original work. But I didn't state that it wasn't either... ;-;

I think honestly if they didn't know any better than it shouldn't be that big a deal, as long as their ready to never do it again.
But for those that do it consciously and are aware of what their doing, i think those people should be stoned.... man i really hate art theft

.... *stones* Yeah like that, I know. But yeah when they're young, they probably haven't grasped the whole concept yet. An adult SHOULD know better, and therefore should be stoned for doing it. People should know its wrong but I supposed I only really started to realise how bad art theiving was when I started spending alot of time working on an image... like "I bet those people worked super-super hard to make those pictures... I'd hate it if someone claimed my work as their own." That and how absolutely AWFUL I felt after I did it that one time. As I said, I never claimed it was my own original piece, but ugh I felt like such a cheating liar. And it was so obvious, compared to the rest of my gallery, that it wasn't mine. Not good.

But I would never say to let any theif off lightly. For someone "not to know any better", they'd have to be like... 5. You have to conciously take another picture, and trace it or just take the original image, and upload it, to steal something. Surely somewhere there you think to yourself, "This isn't right". Of course if the whole time they just think, "I'm gonna be popular!" that's a whole other thing....

Rain hellfire on those who steal your work, and they'll be so scared shitless they'll never do it again... hopefully XD;

Man i wish i could do something about it but most the time the people live half way around the world...
Thats why the website that people submit to take note of this and more importantly take action, i feel its their responsibility to the members.

*smiles* This will make no sense to you... but after today, having gone through a situation where I said something that came out wrong (was misunderstood) and was upset that it wouldn't be forgiven, because I wouldn't have forgiven myself for saying that. My friend (who was with me at the time) assured me that they would forgive me, and probably already had... I can't see why, simply because of how I judge myself, but just because you said that... that she had forgiven and forgotten, after our rant about how bad art thieves are...

It's made me feel so much better...

Well im glad i made you feel better, life is really to short to hold grudges. Some times people forget that, and in doing so it really doesn't help anyone. I have to say i honestly hate art theft, but i think i dislike it more of the whole general idea rather than hating each individual person that dose it. Allot of people know its wrong and they continue to do so, i cant say i like them... but i cant say i hate them either, i just seriously disapprove with their decision. If that makes since... I don't like to be mean and every time i get after someone for art theft i assure that neither of us feel good at the end of the day, i just cant see why it continues to be one of the biggest issues among the art world. It seems crazy to me to try and pull off something so disgraceful just to get popular.... is popularity really that important?

That aside, yes i also enjoyed chatting with you!

God I sooo agree! XD it seems strange, perhaps I shouldn't take it for granted, but I work for hours on a piece of work I'm so proud of, upload it and wait until morning to collect my messages... 1C 3F, and that comment is probably "nice."

And no, popularity isnt that important, but if you're mindlessly uploading pictures that you don't even like, I suppose it can get the better of you. "How will I ever be as successful as  thatperson or  thisperson if my art is like this... maybe if I just get this and change it a bit... now it looks good!
