one of the key members of the Surrealist movement, his work has something of a proto-furry vibe being filled with strange hybrid and humanoid creatures, especially birds. He even had a kind of fursona in Loplop, "the bird-superior". He also experimented a fair amount with techniques and styles and this kind of reminds me of some very textural pieces he was doing in, I think, 1929/1930
