I use a Canon 5D MkII, and for that shot I THINK I used my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens, with my Canon 2x EF Extender III. Even though all that is like 30lbs I like freehanding photos and never use a tripod, which is why it's still.. sort of blurry. Maybe I'll learn my lesson one day and break out my stupid tripod, but for now.. I'm going to keep being stubborn. :P
Woah. Well, it's a really neat camera. I'm also impressed with how you caught the pose of the bird in the background at just the right time. The quality of the photo is really good.
Tripods are too gosh darned much to lug around, on top of a 30lbs camera. Plus, with a tripod, you can't get down low and into the tight little corners where all the fun-to-capture stuff is. ;A;
