This is my first attempt on playing around with a 'steampunk' look, and I decided to try it out first on Bahamut.
I wanted to keep the look simple again but make sure to keep the the look working for steampunk.
Because I've been listening to too much Abney Park, for this I decided to make Bahamut the captain of airship pirates in an 'alternate world'. He and his crew are more of the 'Robin Hood' type, being good and only attacking and raiding when they need to, and if they can, help out those in need.
The armband he has on his left arm is a device that acts like a communications and navigation device, the green 'spot' is a holographic emitter that displays maps, schematics and such.
Since he lost his normal earring, the 'metal plate' he has on serves as a communication device, connecting him to his ship and crew, kinda like the Metal Gear 'codec'.
Overall, I really like the look. The design works out pretty well. The coloring is good, though the shading could have been better, still playing around with shading techniques.
Photoshop 7 and CS3.
