Note:
I usually HATE yarnfalls. I think theyre cheesy, and scream Raggedy Anne. However, in my attempt to try something new ( and get my hair business off to a start ), I put these together in a few days. I wanted to do something different, and try an approach not typical of traditional one-length yarnfalls. The falls are layered in places to add volume, and riddled with braids and twists. The lovely thing about these pinwheel falls is that you can style them differently and control exactly how much color/black you want showing.
specs and more information is on the pic. Despite falling in love with them as they were being made, they are looking for a good home!
They took roughly 5-6 hours over the course of two days.

I feel the same way about yarn falls but these turned out pretty cute. Have you tried all wool yarn? You can find some that's really thick and it's pretty nifty.
The one thing that's really annoying about synthetic dreads is the weight, you might be able to market these to people who hate having all the weight ripping their skull apart ;p

I'm totally with you on that. My synth falls are super heavy, and they're not even that long ( the longest dreads just barely touch my shoulders. )
The girl who made mine actually has a tutorial for making sturdy buns and anchoring them with shoelaces ( I prefer the very thin elastic headbands, however ) so they sit more ontop of your head, and pull on your scalp less.
The first time I wore mine to a club, I was ripping them out at the end of the night. XD

Oh man, I can -never- get the buns right. I ended up braiding in those individual dreads and then taking apart the ones that go over a bun and sliding them onto the braided ones. I must be retarded with hair or something but it's the only way I could make use of my fancy custom falls.
