Tach sighed contently, the hamburger colored inner tube he was using as a pillow squeaking under his arms. He finally felt somewhat isolated from the heat bearing down on his back as he consumed the last of his frozen treats from the small cooler he had hauled outside. Going outside was really his option of last resort but setting up the kiddy pool in the living room was out of the question. He didn't even care that his old swim trunks were constantly shifting down, exposing more and more of his pudgy rear end, or that he had basically filled the pool with more of himself than water. He was just happy to finally be able to relax and watch the cars drive by. The occasional honks were a little annoying though.

Secretly Tach was beginning to hope that the heat wave didn't end; comfortable spots were difficult to come by during the summer and having finally found one he didn't want to leave it. He made a mental note to pick up more frozen treats tomorrow... and maybe a bigger tub.
