There's a lot of photo ops at the museum that would be perfect for the old school photography you do, especially the restoration shops and including a blacksmith shop! There's also a lot of old rolling stock and of course the static engines on display, too.
FYI, the TVRR is in Chattanooga, TN.
There's also the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC, which should be a lot closer to you.
