This be Simpleface. That is not a mask. That is his face. That's what all his species look like. They have no "mouths" or "eyes" as we know them. Basically, the face acts as a satellite dish, amplifying and directing sound to the extremely sensitive ears. The three dots on the face are the "eye." they are modified cells that sense light, color, and movement. They only appear on one side of the face. They have vocal cords, but they do not speak with their mouths. They can speak in a similar way as birds do, but they are telepathic communicators, speaking with images, colors, and emotions. They have no real language of their own, but they can learn other languages. They never stop growing throughout their lives, which can easily span a century or two.They are never truly considered "old" because none of them have ever truly died of old age. They hunt anything and everything, being pure carnivores. They start out life being the size of a large house cat, and can end as large as an African bull elephant. I know they have males and females, but I'm still not sure how they breed. I do know that Simpleface is a male, and very prideful, fearless, restlest, and self-centered teenager. He thinks his the greatest because of his youth and all that. He is ultra flexible, like all of the Zyros. Their joints are lik water, able to be hard like ice when needed, but usually soft and flowing and able to twist in ANY direction. The young hunt by hanging upside down from a tree branch with their forearms dangling down. They are not technilogical, but they are sentient and they are friends with the War Dogs, and like the War Cats, War Dogs protect with their lives anyone they consider allies, so no one messes with them. That's just a little about them. Oh, and young males have manes of protofur running down their necks and chest, and at the base of the tail, with colorful feathers at the middle, and a rigid flap of skin at the end which they wave at each other when there's a conflict.
