It's easier than it seems. Modelling space ship was harder than making those effects, and animating. Worm hole is basically Noise deformed cone that is opening, on it is applied animated electric texture (procedural. Motion blur adds nice fluidity to movement (not much of it is there after compression to flash). all of it is glowing like crazy. At the moment when I was making that animation I was using every flashy glow effect I could lay my hands on.

Cool, I just tend to use what is avaiable for DAZ|Studio, which isn't much right now, although I plan on getting some plugins like Mimic 1.0 for automated lipsycing in the future.. makes me wonder if I should turn my comic in to a seriece of flash toons, as it where.

Science fiction flash toons? you mean like this one you just uploaded animated in 3D? Well it whuld be something new, and certanly fun to make, but it will take lots of time. Finding voice actors that don't suck will be even harder than animating.

True, so maybe just some text that appears on the screen, like subtitling or such would do the trick.
