We cannot understate the value of our irregular combatants. You'd be surprised what kind of results you can get if you take natural skill and apply a little technology to it.
was told to go nuts on this one, and I did. :D

Great job on this submission, I really like the character design, the perspective angle, and the amount of detail.
Definitely your designs have a very "high tech" feel to them, and you do a good job with various surface details and decal lines showing that this is meant to be cutting edge tech (at least compared to what we have now, I don't know how advanced your backstory universe is). My personal favorite is the eyepiece, I always liked the multiple eye thing as it kinda makes it look more exotic but also has the effect of making an opponent look more intimidating because their slightly de-humanized by it. (like a face covering mask on a modern soldier for instance)
I also like how with the perspective we see enough of her that we know that she's not a machine, but she has enough tech to where we know she's some sort of soldier or mercenary; it's an interesting combination and it allows one to both admire the aesthetic of the character and her interesting tech as well.
Anyway, great job on this, I just figured I'd comment as this was a very unique piece that I haven't often seen an equivalent of (on FA).
Keep up the awesome work.

Hey, thanks a ton! This may be the most detailed feedback I've ever gotten in my gallery. X)
I really enjoy doing a good amount of detail when I can get away with it, since I'm using pretty simple tools. Most of the sketches I've done lately have been with banged-up ballpoint pens I've nicked from work, so I'm really happy with the amount of detail I've been able to get away with, in sketches like this in particular. It's not like the papers I work on are particularly large.
The backstory universe is just around when the world - that's comparably modern to today - starts to be fixated with advanced technologies like the ones the Korps uses to create cyborg assassins and drones. You're very right about the visors insofar as they're very much intended to dehumanize the wearer. In the case of the drones that also wear the visors, they're very much designed to look, appropriately enough, like they've been hijacked by what they're wearing.
I feel like there's a bunch of stuff I kind of mangled with the perspective, but it turned out pretty well all things considered. I wanted her to look well-wired but not fully subsumed by her gear, and from what I grasp from what you've said, I've largely succeeded x3
Thanks very much for the fave and for the awesome feedback, man. :3 Hope what I keep putting out is to your liking.

No problem, I usually try and solicit feedback from fans so I figure the least I can do is type out detailed feedback when I see an interesting or unique piece.
The amount of detail is definitely interesting, and comes across well in these submissions; I normally would have more detailed models as well, but when you have to put things in motion it's like every extra line makes it harder to move, especially when your a one person animator like myself.
That's an interesting concept, definitely kinda portrays a dystopian vibe: with technology becoming another shackle instead of liberating man like its kinda meant to. Seems interesting though, and you definitely seem to have consistent themes and "looks" throughout your gallery, makes it seem like it's telling small pieces of a much larger story.
I'm quite terrible with perspective, so I try and complement people when I see something that's particularly well done in that department; and yes I think you've largely succeeded in what you set out to portray in this submission.
Of course, no problem. Thanks for originally favoring one of my works as well; I doubt my page will often post much other stuff like it, but I appreciated the support nonetheless.
Good luck with your page.
