Padre Raul is the ship-priest aboard the Revenge. He's the only catholic in de Grammont's crew and perhaps one of the first priests who adhended the liberation christianity in the West Indies. Well, the "terratenientes" and the governor seemed not to like his ideas, so he was hanged (With the permisson of the archbishop of Cartagena). Fortunately, the Chevalier forced the city in that very moment, and a canonball smashed the gallow. For that reason, Raul became a pirate (in order to help the poor and the underdogs).
