Obligatory Lab Experiment

Alarm lights descended from rusty hinges in the roof, bits of dust and grim sprinkling down into the corridors below like a miniature meteor shower. Sirens split the ears of any unlucky enough to be subjected to their obnoxious wailing and the words 'Containment Breach' displayed unhelpfully on any monitor connected to the mainframe.
It was going to be one of those days.
Tugging on her Slave-Co-Electro-Operation collar with one hand, Jenny pushed the samples of strain 24X95a away and stood up groggily from her chair. She'd been testing compounds brought back from the old dig sites all night and it was time to rest, grab a bite to eat and perhaps take a few hours in her rack. That was at least if the sirens stopped their horrid squawking by the time she got to her room.
'Containment Breaches' happened almost daily around here. Her fellow Chua weren't exactly known for their prudence and a measure of one's brilliance was more often found in how long they had survived the laboratories than it was in any of their other achievements. In this, Jenny guessed, they were probably the most like warriors of old than any other race. Theirs was truly a world of survival of the fittest. Or at least... survival of the most flame retardant. Someone would hit something with an Extingo-Beam or seal it up in liquid duraplast and the sirens would stop. Until then it was snack time!
Starting off towards the canteen Jenny quickly stopped. Was it just her or was her shirt getting tighter?

Whilst experiments gone wrong that cause you to gain weight are an old trope, they're also a gold trope! So when it came to drawing myself as a Chua (in honor of Wildstar going FTP) I couldn't help myself <3

I was playing around with different ways to sketch and expand my library of emotions and proportions, Chua have that very squat, legs sticking out the sides of their bellies sorta proportions so I can't take all the credit for that but they were definitely fun to draw <3
And I've been envious of how you can depict backgrounds for some time! You're really, /really/ good with so many different things there's so much for me to learn <3

Hello, I have an important question to ask you about your character Jenny. I really like the way you drew her, I haven't seen a Chua drawn in this style before. You did a good job! I think she is really cute.
I made a Chua similar to yours but I realized that I should ask you first! I actually just made an account on here just to ask you if my Chua is too similar to yours. I will post the art of her in few days so you can see once I finish her turn-around. If you think she's too similar, I will change her. (Main similarities are the ears and the freckles. Clothes, name, eyes color, hair style, and color and fur markings are different and so is the art style.)
Hope this isn't a big problem,

Hello again, I'm also including a short character backstory to make sure that my Chua(Pearl) isn't too much like Jenny. I DO want to make it known that I was inspired by your character. I randomly started making up a story about Jenny interacting with my other Chua for fun and fell in love with her. I based my design on her but stopped and realized I shouldn't copy you! So, I changed her design to be unique and gave her her own backstory. The main thing I took from the art was the fact that she worked for Mondo Zax. Here it is:
Pearl was a failed Dominion experiment and test subject for Mondo Zax. She has no childhood memories and woke up in his lab as a blank slate. Mondo often flirted with her but would just turn around and treat her badly. She was bullied by many of the male Chua for her weight and clumsiness. She eventually discovered her esper abilities and escaped.
Later, she was adopted by a group of Chua who helped her recover and make a new life for herself. She learned to trust, though she is still reluctant towards men.
Other things about her:
She has trust issues, especially towards men.
Loves anything with potatoes.
Is very self-conscience about her weight.
Is talented with computers and is a part-time hacker for the dominion.
Is now a full-time fashion disigner.
She has no last name and her first name was simply a number until she decided to name herself after a coding language called Pearl.(Which is a real thing btw).
I hope the art and the story are ok with you and I hope you like it. Sorry for taking so long! :)

I'm really happy that you like her! That was my first piece of digital art. (actually, I drew it IRL and scanned it into my drawing program.) I'm a beginner artist, so this makes me really happy! Glad that it worked out and that you approve, I'm happy she wasn't to similar to Jenny!
Just so you know, if you see the artwork and this comment disappear, I'm not planning on using FA at all and I will be putting my art on DA from now on. (I don't really care for FA very much and DA is more for my age range! If possible, I will probably delete this account soon.) Also I do more than just furry art, so I doesn't really make sense for me to be here in the first place!
