It's Halloween, and Ael's dressed up as an Egyptian! Judging by the crook and falcon symbol on his bracer, it appears he's chosen the cult of Horus.
And yes, the hieroglyphics on his loincloth spell "fox" (at least, I THINK I got it right...). Fennecs are native of regions at and around Egypt, so this was a fitting costume ^_^
