The rain kept coming down as the day went on- not quite a drizzle but not yet a downpour. It was a good rain, and needed, and even though it was starting to hit into summer, a small break in the humidity allowed for the weather to actually be appreciated. Normally at this time of the year, the air was almost breathable, as it hung hot and muggy. Now, however, there was a crisp breeze that whistled through, a last vestige of springtime storms and tornado weather, and the air smelled clear and damp. Light coats could even be worn, it was such an abnormal day. Nym loved it.
It had been a strange past few weeks for the Witchcat. So many emotions going up and down, nothing staying the same from day to day. She was doing her best to keep her head up, but she was a bit afraid. The phrase when it rains it pours kept coming to mind, and lingered behind her optimism, a sneaking voice trying to bring her down.
She grabbed her hoodie and decided it was time to take a walk. She needed a small break from life, just a few moments, a few hours, by herself. But she knew she also wanted to be around others. Sometimes, being alone in her own room was almost suffocating. She missed going out to restaurants and eating by herself, she missed her freedom. She knew she needed to get it back, even if her current living arrangements kept her from doing so regularly.
As she walked down the street, she noticed that the city was bustling, even in the rain. Some people seemed to be crushed by the weather, and some seemed to be invigorated. Nym found their expressions and body language in response to the weather fascinating, and wondered if it would impact their interactions later in the day. Then, as she was walking, lost in her own thoughts, a ray of sunshine came out. Most people couldn't see it, under their heavy umbrellas, but the Witchcat saw. Her umbrella was transparent, and her eyes turned towards the sky. With a smile she knew she'd be ok, because the rain isn't always bad. Sometimes you need it to pour, and there was nothing wrong with it. No matter what happened, she'd be ok, and the thought brought her peace.

This beautiful YCH was bought for me by an awesome friend,
<3 I'm lucky to have such good people in my life.
I fell in love when I saw this, and it really fits my mood. For those of you who want a bit of a laugh, when we had sunshowers as a kid, my grandma would say you can tell the devil was beating (or alternatively kissing, since both are said in these parts) his wife. Weird ass regional folklore sayings, right?!
