Name: Primeape
Classification: Pig monkey
Type: Fighting
Number: 057
Evolution: Mankey – Primeape (level 28)
Length: 1.00 meter
Weight: 32 kilo
Animal type: Mammal, gorilla/spider monkey
Habitat: Subtropical forest
Description: Many pokémon are abandoned when their trainer thinks they are not evolving fast enough, but Primeape is one of the very few that is often abandoned after evolving. Keeping a Mankey under control is hard work, but training a Primeape is nigh on impossible. They are not only extremely aggressive, but very strong and can easily kill a human. In the wild, Primeape live solitary on the forest floors in enormous territories. When two Primeape meet outside the mating season, one of them will not survive the encounter, males and females alike. During the mating season, a male will seek out a female, preferably in a neighbouring territory, so it doesn’t have to cross other Primeapes territory. Where birds have a mating dance, Primeape have a mating fight: a female will refuse to mate with any male she feels she can defeat in a fight. After mating, the female will immediately chase the male from her territory and sometimes kill him after all. Unusual for this type of pokémon, nests can have up to eight young. The mother Primeape is fiercely protective of the young Mankey. When the Mankey are old enough, they will climb in the trees and either form a new family group with it’s siblings or search for a group to join, probably not returning to the ground until their evolution. Although Primeape can hunt small pokémon, they have a strong preference for fruits. Their face and limbs are hairless, except for black patches of fur around their wrists and ankles. They have no tail. Their hands have only two fingers and no thumb and are usually clenched into a fist. Because of their violent lifestyle, it is assumed Primeape are quite rare, though no one has been suicidal enough to try and find out. In the past, Primeape were used for boxing matches and were highly popular there, because despite their small stature, they managed to defeat the challenger nearly every time. In fact, in order to have the challenger win every once in a while, some Primeape were drugged right before a match so that they would apparently be knocked out by the opponent after some time. This became illegal due to the high mortality rate amongst challengers.
