"In Final Fantasy games, one thing that always fascinated me was the detail Square put into their summonings. From the detail in the FF6 games...through FF7 with Knights of the Round and that insanity...through FF8 with the breathtaking summoning of Alexander...all the way up to the current games, including Bravely Default. There is simply something intriguing about being able to call on some big massive monster to help you out in battles, especially when they're drawn and animated so well.
After all, why use black magic to roast your enemies...or white magic to heal everyone...or even blue magic to copy enemies abilities...when you can just call on some big, awesome monster to come and annihilate all your enemies. That's the appeal to me: getting big help when you need it."

Haha I have the same thought about pokemon. The sheer destructive nature of some of the moves just make me wonder how there's a stadium (or side of the road) left after any given battle, much less the Pokémon hit by it.
I guess we just gotta chalk it up to video game shenanigans and enjoy the pretty attacks. XD
