A feral and unkempt Chakat Mythril about to attack Chakat Windsong - but pausing as shi realizes just how similar Windsong is to hirself...
This is how Mythril and Windsong meet - Windsong's ship, the Prometheus, landed on Mythril's home planet on which Myth is the last remaining of hir kind, and, being afraid, Myth's first instinct is to attack.. Windsong is caught off guard and looks like she's gonna get a face full of claws - but Myth holds back hir attack at the last moment...
No word as of yet when the story will be available to read online, but I'm sure it will be great when it is up!...
Characters are copyright Gregg Anderson, chakats are copyright Bernard Doove.
Done with micron inks and acrylic paints on 9"x12" illustration board.

I think you captured their expressions and body language well. Windsong genuinely looks surprised and frightened at the same time while Mythril's expression speaks of someone ready to attack when they are surprised in an entirely different way.
Kind of a RAWR...wait a sec expression. :)

Your art never ceases to amaze me
Though I do have to say that while I love Goldfur's universe, creations, and writing he does fall into stereotypical Trekkisms a bit. Like ship crewmembers wandering around alone while essentially unarmed and unprotected on alien planets with minimal data.
