So I redid the background from scratch, changing it from a pseudo-farm to a marshy grassland, which makes more sense story-wise… but in subtle shades of grey-green, and then didn’t come up with a decent way to add color to them in ClipStudio… so I made the whole piece monochromatic.

“Well, here it is” she said, twirling around on one leg while continuing to channel her spell, whatever it’s purpose was. Something told him that she was creating a magical memory sequence of his reaction.

His eyes shifting left and right, his head barely turning as his eyebrows slowly lowered - he frowned slightly as he turned towards her “…and what exactly is “It”? All I see is a swampy grassland, a pond and a bunch of tiny critters rustling through the tall grass.”

“Well your farmland, of course. Silly peon.” He could see how her eyes narrowed as the corners of her mouth rose further, her smile widening. ”Demonstrate you can create and nourish – rather than just kill and destroy, and you’ll gain our trust. That is your new quest - this whole area - turn it into working fields that flourish and bear fruit. Even for a brute like you, it shouldn’t take THAT long, but…“ the priestess put a finger to her nose, then wiggled it as she winked “…no magic allowed.”

He wondered how cold and deep the pond was, and whether she knew how to swim, but then decided to not make matters worse and simply accept the fact that he would be stuck here for the next few months.
