I did! I used a circular polarizer to help clear the reflection on the water and deepen the blue hue of the sky. With the autumn colors, it turned out great. ^^

I've heard of the campus. You guys still have an astronomy program there, and where about's is that lake?

The campus is in Incline Village, NV in north Lake Tahoe. We have astronomy courses, but not a major as of yet. ^_^

I think it should be offered as a major, but then I'm an amateur astronomer; that makes me a bit biased.

As for the lake, it's not Watson Lake is it?

That is actually a stream in South Lake Tahoe flowing into the lake where the Salmon were spawning.

I know that spot. The ranger station has a window to view the salmon in the stream.

Last time I was up at Tahoe my brother took me on a bike ride along the Tahoe Rim Trail, starting at the Mt. Rose staging area. Riding down in the direction toward Carson Pass (south) was fine, but coming back...Yikes!

Ran out of breath, and had to walk it back most of the way; though the scenery was, and still is, awesome!

Looks incredible! I'm reminded of some of the camps I've been to in Arkansas by this scene.

In a somewhat related thread, I'm currently planning on majoring in Animal Behavior, so I might be doing things like this :3

reminds me of living in Washington, we had a stream that went right through our city and salmon would swim up it every mating season. I could sit there for hours watching them swim by... Nice shot!

Before seeing this, I actually never knew that we had salmon in our area at all. I was there until probably sundown that day. They really are spectacular to watch, but also kind of depressing as you watch the deceased ones floating back down the stream. The colors were amazing that autumn, and I honestly think that this upcoming year will easily rival that one.

Doesn't mean that you have to stop. With the aspen trees in that area, I found that it is a great place to just walk around and relax. Spooner Lake too!

that IS true, but when i really need to relax during the tourist season, that's not the best place to go ^^;

usually somewhere isolated that only locals know about works :3

I know a few of those spots, but yeah, I totally hear ya. Even in north shore, the tourists were terrible.
