Here, representing Sloth is the Pure Ferret royal family of Riftguard, King Agarnu and his offspring Prince Bladd and Princess Kurda. The reason I chose them is because of something Chelonianmobile pointed out to me: "The Pure Ferrets could be Sloth - obvious reasons for the males, and Kurda thinking hacking up inanimate objects and frightened slaves counts as sword practice."
Obviously, Agarnu would be perfect for Sloth since it was his own laziness that killed him (he had gotten so fat and pampered that he could no longer walk, and when the slaves carried his litter out into the sea, he could only sit and cry, "I cannot svim! I cannot svim!"). But what about Bladd? Although he started off as rather lazy and pampered himself, he still ended up being quite active as the story progressed. I still included him because he never did anything really all that productive. Sure, he took a crash-course in how to be a Freebooter, but that's hardly a good use of one's time. Sloth is more than just being lazy, but also being concerned with only trivial things and not with anything that really matters.
That being said, Kurda also applies, arguably, to Sloth, since despite what the book said that she "worked very hard at being the best" swordsbeast, she went about it in a completely lazy way: either chopping up turnips or submissive slaves. We never saw or heard of her training with any of the guards and learning how to fight an armed opponent. True, she did face off against Plugg and held her own (its even possible she would have won that fight), and she did manage to reach out and stab a shrew during a battle, but for the most part... yeah. Plus, she was also concerned only with trivial things and not caring for others.
Some notes on the pic itself:
The color associated with Sloth is light blue, so that's why all of them look like blueberries. (Or at least the males do, anyway.) Its kind've a sleepy color, and it does coincide with Bladd always trying to find a quiet place to sleep. Plus blue is associated with water, something that involved either a weakness or the death of one of the ferrets: I don't think either male could swim, and Kurda disliked getting her footpaws wet. I even made certain to make the purple cushions on Agarnu's throne a bluish-purple, and added a blue undertone to the gold.
I copied Agarnu's throne from the book. I also wanted his robe look like waves or a waterfall, again to associate with water, which is what kills him in the end. And I layered him with some sapphire-studded jewelry that would help weigh him down.
Prince Bladd is playing with a toy version of the ship he and his sister were supposed to originally sail on, to show both how childish he still is, as well as his future interest in piracy. Plus, his cloak is meant to be more or less the same color as oatmeal, which is (spoiler alert) how he dies.
As for Kurda, you may notice that her fur and eyes are colored darker than her father and brother's. That's because in the book, she was described as having "creamy white" fur and "coral pink" eyes, whereas Agarnu had "snow white" fur and simply "pink" eyes. Plus, her being darker would signify how she's technically the Big Bad of the book and slightly more evil than the rest of her family. Her arms and legs are crossed like that as a nod to how she can be a double-crosser (no pun intended... sort of), and the jewels she wears are the same color as the turnip she's holding. And of course, I based her wardrobe off of what she's drawn wearing in the books, cuz why not?
Also, I filled up the big blank spaces in the background with tapestries of the Royal family's mark, because they were always putting that sign on anything they owned.
