Wow! Now that means a LOT to me! It's exactly how I feel (not that there are no great head designs out here, but very few who share the same aesthetics I do).
The head is actually much larger than what I would want normally, as is the traditional design with Realms of Enchantment's designs. They are shoulder-mounted heads, which make them a little awkward. I put a lot of time into the detail to compensate for that.

I have! Liquitex makes some decent metallic paints, and they can be found at most hobby/craft/art stores, like Michael's, JoAnn Fabric, etc. Here's a link to their site:

The fur IS pretty soft! Although not nearly long enough in my opinion. Realm's uses a short, 1/4-inch pile which, actually, is decent for the head, but lacking in the body.
The acrylic paint, however, stiffens the fur strands, so painted areas become coarse. This technique is mostly a visual please than a tactile one.

Oh yeah? That's entirely possible. Especially since Realms uses very similar designs for all of its suits/heads. This was the main reason why I wanted to design the head myself; not only do I have aa need to do my own detail work, I wanted the head to be unique. Still, the general head shape exists in may places.
Out of curiosity, what is AFO?

Hey there! Thanks for the honesty, and I can respect that. I can admit that I was not always a fan of the fursuit. I used to think that they were largely in bad taste and most of them were not the best of construction. But once I realized the artistic value of them, and how much creativity goes into them, there are some really really good ones out there.
Thanks for the thoughts!

Hello again!
Quite honestly, I'm not sure what Realm's did or didn't do. They worked with me on adjusting the positions of ears and other physical details, but I did all of the custom airbrushing myself, which was how I purposely ordered it. Realm's did their own airbrushing, but I had a very specific plan for the debut KB suit, andI'm very happy with it!
Here's a link to the suit as it arrived, out-of-box:
