Thanks ^^
It was the same era than the Spitfire but they came few years later than them and they lasted less time than the Spits, only two years. The Tempest was very dangerous, it was started thanks to a cartridge which made that if it didn't started at the first time, there was 80% of chances for the engine caught fire and once it was started, it was realising an highly toxic fumes in the cockpit which obliged the pilots to wear permanently their oxygen masks and then to breathe a pure oxygen which burn the lungs and can create sever problems with the time. And with that, the torque created by the powerful engine of 2500hp was very hard to offset at the take off and at the landing, and most than that, they had the worst losses of the RAF in 1944, at a point that the Flight Lieutenant Max Sutherland, leader of the A flight of the n°602 sqn RAF said that only the suicidals were volunteers for fly the Tempest.
I think that why the RAF mothballed them after WWII.

Must've been
Can't be having no health hazards in a death machine XD
Also I braintarded and forgot to read the description
hence why I thought they were those late era Spits like the XVI's with the bubble canopies.
If I'd read your description for the pic I would've noticed they were Tempests XD
