They really are. I enjoy thinking of other mixes and all and enjoy others a lot but hawke and fenris are definitely my otp haha that and my grey warden (a dalish berserker warrior) and zevran being an otp in my head >.> My warden-commander eventually goes to hunt down zevran again and they fight in the streets, laugh, usurp the crows and so on lol Zevran was a bad(good) influence. Meanwhile Hawke is this lovable goofball that manages to make fenris laugh his ass off. Not many could do that well xD
Yeah, my dalish elf Warden was all for Zev as well. They fuck, they laugh and they try to find out the cure to the corruption in his blood to get more life together.
Hawke being his snarky ass self drags Fenris along on adventures, hunting down slavers and later drag him to Wiesshaupt.

Great minds think alike haha I had this imagery that it actually ends up being zevran's idea to undermine the crows so they can get some more man power behind finding a cure. My warden rather enjoyed the excitement (different sort of life than that of the Dalish and all) and he supported the idea without too much convincing on zev's end.
As for hawke an fenris though I had a feeling that at first fenris would just be content to follow hawke around as usual but hawke eventually gets this idea to go cause some hell with tevinter magisters for both their sakes and eventually fenris gets more into it on his own before that whole thing with the inquisition. Unfortunately I'm also a sucker for angst so have been playing around with the idea that... wait have you already played inquisition? (I haven't but I already know what ends up happening depending thanks to tumblr lol)

On my 5th playthrough, so no worries about spoilers for me. And I have yet to actually been able to let what happens in the fade stick. I tried once and couldn't handle the emotions that just flooded me, especially if you bring Varric. I bawled for like two hours afterwards... luckily I had a save from just before the boss battle so I could reload it.
So... yeah... I wanted to be all evil to Hawke/Fenris... but I chickened out. Just like I could not give Fenris to Denarius... EVER.

I have the same issue. I love it but hate it, but also love to hate it and hate loving it xD I did that very thing in DA2 as well, and even origins. Though my first few playthroughs I didn't even know you could actually give fenris back to denarius. The only time I knew that was even an option was on some tumblr post. I went "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!" and got so very angry hahah When I played again and got to that part I paused a moment, contemplated it then went through with it just to see the interaction and I almost roared at the screen before reloading lol I've tried a few different things just to see how far you can push fenris before he finally gives up on hawke, but even being non committal and not romanced after he initially chooses to work with the templars if you are pro mage, he essentially goes "this is crazy what your doing" and you can choose something like "Is it so crazy that I'd want to die at your side?" or something along those lines and I almost lost it when fenris just goes "oh... ok.. sorry meredith I'm going to help him now. kbai" xD
As for the post inquisition head canon, had this thought of hawke being sacrificed in the fade, but instead of being killed is actually just stuck in the fade and tricked for a time by a demon. He eventually makes a deal and only realizes what he did after he's managed to leave the fade. By this time fenris already thinks he's dead but hawke just sort of shows up, but unknowingly with all this shit baggage to deal with. lol

Ohhhh delicious angst.
Haha yeah, Fenris if he hangs with the templars at the end (which honestly only happened once for me) i so cute when Hawke asks him to rejoin him. Such a spiky puppy.
I brought Anders along the one time I tested the Denarius thing... and he was all "good riddance" afterwards. I was so angry and after that he has been one of my least fave characters (well, among obvious reasons). I also reloaded that time, like instantly because I were bawling my eyes out and my boyfriend were laughing at me.
But oh gods I adore these games.

I actually liked anders to a point (moreso his awakenings persona), I think there was some writing confliction going on with him because Justice was very strongly against slavery and being needlessly cruel and if he was a part of anders, then why in the hell would be be that way to fenris? It really didn't make any sense why he would ridicule and support fenris being turned back over to slavery. They may have been at odds about the mage thing, but slavery? No chance in hell based on his character profile in awakening, even if justice made him less of a jokester type in the end. I can only really see anders getting severely pissed off if you consent to let fenris be taken, maybe even abandoning the party afterwards or starting a fight with denarius to stop it or something. The crap that happened? That was petty and so incredibly ooc it hurt lol As you can tell, I'm pretty bitter about that particular character writing lol
Yeah, I went into DA2 loving Anders (so weird they use such a common Swedish name for a character, I know like 3 people irl named Anders) and I romanced him the first playthrough... and yeah... then THAT thing happened at the end and well. Yeah.
And yes... the more I play the game, the more I am unsure why they made him do some things in the game. But I usually take it as if at that time Anders wasn't Anders anymore and Justice wasn't Justice. They had both corrupted into something new and spiteful like Vengeance.

I can kind of get why he went and blew shit up. But the lines get really muddled between who he was in awakening, who justice was and what happened to them both due to anders hatred when it involves murdering people just to start an open war. Anders hatred for the oppression of mages was strong enough to pervert justice, but anders never wanted to kill people that hadn't directly brought him harm, just the templars mostly. The chantry played a part but I don't know. Just something felt really off with how everything went down. At least he understood what he did was fucked up anyway, so that much is relatable. Understanding that what he was about to do was also part wrong and he was unsure if it was the right thing, but did it anyway because there was nothing else.
Even with anders hatred to pervert justice though, justice was an incredibly strong willed, righteous spirit. So maybe I might have imagined something a lot more pure at first. I didn't see much on the side of change to really witness when justive gets perverted within anders. It's just suggested far as I could tell.
