A lovely work in progress by my friend  Sethys depicting two characters we use in one of our text-based roleplays :

The big guy is Véraze (or Raze, for short), an exiled imperial prince from Xanadu, a distant world currently at war with another alien race. He fled to Earth (since those both worlds are very similar) and has to remain hidden there until the conflict is over. That's just standard xanean procedure in case of a world war : one of the "younger" princes has to flee Xanadu to ensure the survival of the imperial line should the Empire fall. Don't let the picture fool you though : he's actually a really nice guy. Just don't try to hurt his little human friend...

Said human's name is Velvet and yes, she's a shout-out to manga character Kanoko Kikuchiya from "Velvet Kiss". She's a 21 years old journalism student/bar waiter living in an unnamed city in Florida near the coast. Since Véraze is able to switch between his true form (depicted here) and a "feral" form that lets him keep his intellect while giving him the appearance of a wolf/husky hybrid, he managed to fool her into thinking he was just a regular dog and she took him home with her. When she discovered his true nature, though... She was scared at first, furious at second, then her curiosity (and alcohol-helped nymphomaniac tendencies) decided that having a 7 feet tall, very muscular and protective bodyguard wasn't that bad a thing after all... Especially since he has really soft fur, is hung like a horse and knows how to please a female.
