Donryu was my table neighbor at FWA and one of his Attention Getting Devices was a Disney Infinity character figure of Rocket Racoon, which looked awesome in his stylized glory. Turns out Donny is a big fan of Rocket and he asked if I might draw a picture in his sketchbook of his big lug character Vex show appreciation for Rocket somehow.

"Showing appreciation somehow" turned into an awesome opportunity to take this big mantractive character and have him starry-eyed squeeing over the awesome little powerhouse that Rocket is. Even better, Donny had with him a graphic novel of Rocket's adventures which I'd never seen before as I'm only familiar with the character because of the movie, and DAMN if Rocket isn't the sort of cartoony violent awesome that I've been missing for years! Whoo!!! I had my own fanboy moment when drawing this after reading that comic.
