Here is one of the happier reasons I've been away from FA... Several months ago a lady my mom (a home healthcare nurse) was taking care of had a scruffy little female chihuahua show up on her porch. She was fearful and missing an eye and had obviously been abused, but the lady took her in with some food and coaxing, intending to find her a good home. Before she could, though, the lady's weiner dog got a bit too friendly, and knocked the little Chi up. The lady was already having trouble finding the chi a home, what with the missing eye and fearful nature, and no one wanted a litter on top of that. She tried to give her to the SPCA... only to be told she'd be put down, preggers or not preggers. She was deemed 'unadoptable' and they didnt want more pups on their hands either.
So the lady kept the Chi, and the litter was born. Puppies are easier to find homes for while their young and cute, but it was a big litter. A few remained behind, no home in sight. The lady couldnt keep them all, and talked to my mom about it. My mom helped out, and finally there were only two pups left. The lady decided to keep one, and the mom... and I got a surprise.
My mom delivered this little angel to me on my birthday. Not the most considerate gift... I'd never had a small dog before, just big outside pets. Plus I'm rather poor. But she meant well. And once I met him.... love at first sight. I named him Fenris, because I'm a nerd (I love the Dragon Age games... Fenris is a favorite character, who's name means 'Little Wolf'), and this little chiweenie had become my life. I'd do anything for him. Just seeing him makes me smile. He's my everything.

Hehe. He know's Mommy is in charge. even though I cant stay mad at him, I can still say no. It's everyone else he has wrapped around his little paw. My dad hated him when I first got him... said something that small wasnt a real dog, and he bet his dog Copper would eat it. Now he adores Fenris, calls him his 'little buddy' and sneaks him treats and people food Mommy wont let him have. lol.
