I had the ones at the DaiBhutsu shrine in Kamakura, Japan climb all over me for shrimp chips. they were cool, and would climb yer arm to take a chip from yer lips.

The ones at the Fox Shrine, above Kamkura, would throw down acorns and seedpods onto the metal roof of the snack/rest shelter, to crack them open... pretty cool.

I actually did this many years ago handing a squirrel a peanut and at the same time trying to pet it. I do not know what I was thinking but the thing turned and nicked me. For the next several months I was freaked out I was going get rabies or some but I ran inside washed the wound out with water then poured peroxide over the wound and well I am still alright.
