Species: Saiumi
enigmatic life form, theoretically a mammal in appearance- though they are close cousins to Nyxians.
these creatures are perhaps the largest marine beings on Sekai, at about one hundred feet, all the way to the largest, 700 ft. (Though these massive ones are extremely rare, most hover around 200/ 300)
their looks are deceiving for they are actually rather gentle- unless you try to hurt them. at which point you will be warned many times before it takes action, using its echolocation to make sound waves that CAN shatter bone. they can sing, as well as speak through thoughts. they ARE reasoning beings, smarter than humans. they eat deep sea creatures that resemble serpentine eels, though much bigger. little more is known about these beasts, but it is said that in total darkness, these creatures create light-shows to go with their songs. both male and fae saiumi have these lights and both sing, though the males are known for deeper tunes. their biolights flash in patterns and rythims depending on the climax of their music, going so far as to sometimes shift from white light to a multitude of colors that change acording to what they want. their sails and fin-membranes also change color, as well as their main forms. their eyes can be any color shade, so long as they are two colors. the only color they cannot produce on their forms in entirety is neon-pink. they have one to two calves every three years, as they swim in groups, and have family ' pods ' or flocks.
they have several breathing points, one on the top of the head, similar to a blow hole (which is almost invisible) and the others on the end of its muzzle and up the snout a bit. Their horns are hollow and many have holes in them, which helps when they sing. Another of many defense mechanisms include a severely high pitched sound, and electrical charges in varying intensity. The Saiumi race is known to have Bipedal forms, so they can, and do, interact with beings on land. It has become apparent that their bodies are covered in tiny, sleek and smooth feathers, similar to a penguin, but softer. This is one of only a few things that hints the relation to their avian cousins. A bipedal Saiumi keeps it's sails, though they do have feathery hair as well. In this form, it is a lot more obvious that they are nyxian related- their body structure is more or less the same, granted the sail from hip to mid elbow on their arms remains, as does their tail, and dorsal fin. they have digit-grade legs which have raptorial talons. Their personalities are usually elegant and calm, they have a 'knowing' expression most of the time and the eldest of them are very wise.

As usual, since Saiumi and all of planet Sekai, in a different dimension and 'off world' to Earth, this counts as Sci-Fi, exactly the way 'Star Wars' animals and Dragons of Pern are Sci-Fi. cheers!

BAH. I'm so not good at that whole...Water-webbing technique :[ Oh well, it looks nice and shiny and soft.
At thirty eight feet long (not counting tail and fin-streamers, placing her over 50 ft long) she is still an INFANT Saiumi. That's right ;3 Innshe cute~? XD
She will appear older when her pectoral sails grow in their streamers :3 At this age, they are still dependent on their mothers, even at their incredible size. A Parashirk could easily kill a calf and feed on it for weeks.
