Resident Evil Director's Cut pumpikin carving, Literal carving not just cutting holes in it, The shadows and light are achieved by cutting thinner layers out of the pumpkin, This took me like over an hour and a half, srsly...
I think it turned out good though, and yes it does actually glow red when lit.

Not enough people use the shallow cuts to get the dull glow effect. I suppose it could be argued that it can be somewhat hard to do, but still.

Definitely. I always try to use it one way or another when I carve a pumpkin, though I don't always make the shallow cuts deep enough for them to show up properly, though that's partly due to the fact that I usually just use whatever sharp fixed blade knife is handy. what tool did you use for those shallow cuts?

Used a box cutter to depth them and a pocket knife to shave them down, Most everyone else was using actual pumpkin saws but I only used them for going all the way through on the teeth and the eye, And for cutting the hole in the top. The rest was all box cutter and a pocket knife though.
