Not surprising. Galen is a fairly big guy, so you would need a really big rack to hold him. So if we were to see both Galen, Galen's feet (Which I think was the main focus) and the dog then it would be only natural that the perceptive would have to pull back a few feet (Pun unintentional) making it look smaller.
