Facts and specs:
I picked a super large mouse pad because I wanted to be sure neither my mouse nor the keyboard hurt the finish. (The keyboard is made out of metal too so I didn't want any sharp edges digging into it.) I picked this one because it was simple and black and matched the rest of my system. I didn't try to pick one that would give me better speed or control like a lot of mouse pads advertise, I just wanted something simple and this fit the bill. It's HyperX's largest mouse pad if anyone is wondering and we cut a bit off the left side because it was too long.
My dad and I made this over the course of several weeks, my mom helped a bit too with the map.
The desk is super light, we made it out of pine and used a cherry stain.
Yes that is a 3d printed version of me on the desk :p

Thanks! You have no idea how badly I needed a desk. We had a broken recliner (it was stuck in the reclined position, which at the time I thought was perfect) and when my parents got it replaced I moved it to my room, which seemed like a good idea at the time. Problem was that it took up like half the space I had and I actually had to jump over it to get out of my room. :p It also killed my back, the position I had to sit in made me hunch over and when I'm doing work and playing games for long periods of time it got pretty painful. Also I never had a place to put my keyboard so I just sat it in my lap (which caused wrist pain) and used my mouse on the armrest. This desk is literally perfect, wires aren't getting snagged anymore, it promotes good posture and I designed it to personally fit my needs.
My dad knows a lot more about woodworking than I do so he really did most of the work, I'm really glad so many people like it, I've been sharing all the positive comments with him!

Oh it's wonderful. There's a lot of desks that you can buy online that are bigger and cheaper, but nothing that is as well built and will personally fit me like this does. It also got me to finally clean my room and even my closet, which had just piles of stuff in it. It's just so nice to have things clean and for everything to finally have a place. Thanks, Spixy, I love it so much!
