He is capable, yeah (and probably would normally be smiling a whole lot) But without eyes, I gotta push the emotion through the mouth. Normally Sluggy's a pretty upbeat dude, but in this comic he's forced to handle a lot of super serious situations. I'm pretty sure we get a bigger exploration of his emotional faculties in some pages later, but I think if he's ever in another story I'd depict him a bit sillier.

(This reply is turning out to be super long) See, Sluggy comes from several other older comics where he is much wackier, and a little stupid. I may post them up actually, now that I think of it. I think I feel a journal coming on.
