This is Hat, or Myhat as Kristein likes to call him. He (gender-nonspecific he) is an alien parasite whose species normally destroys their hosts through frequent feedings of emotional energy from the brain. They attach through two rows of teeth inside the mouth, then suck the emotions out, normally leaving the host so withered and devoid of emotion over time that they die from it. This channel is also used to control a host for their own benefit, and they are capable of hypnotizing anyone they attach to. The species can look like any Earth hat, though there aren't many that look alike.

He hates formal events and water. And because Kristein calls him the best name ever "Myhat", he sometimes allows himself to be removed without destroying the cranium. -nod nod- He even is nice enough to restrict his feedings to periods of high emotion to help preserve her life force -nod nod-
