I short poem I wrote to get my frustrations out over school drama.

Screaming
There is a screaming in my head that won’t go away.
I don’t know what it wants, where it came from, why it’s there,
I don’t know when it started, who it’s supposed to be,
I don’t know how I can shut it up.
It feels the fear sitting in my chest, the constriction.
It tightens it, furthers it, sounds louder each time I sob.
No, no, mustn’t react. Mustn’t show any weakness.
Not to the screaming, not to the others, those watching.
But the screams continue, and all I can do is quietly break,
As the world continues on unseeing.
