In Monster Hunter you can cut or break body parts. Cutting tails is something you usually do since you get extra items, some of them rathe rare. XD

Don't worry, if MH3U's first encounter taught my about Lagiacrus, their tails grow back after a while c: (cut one off during the first scripted encounter, and second scripted encounter the tail was back!)
