It would appear this Gore Magala was caught hunting within a fellow Rathalos' territory! He even got caught in the act of hunting, so the annoyed Rathalos decided it was best if the Gore found out what it was like to be prey!
He went down easy enough even with him standing his ground, hopefully he'll have learned his lesson but I don't think the Rathalos even wants to give him that, one heavy flight later the Rathalos comes to rest in one of his favourite spots, rolling on the vine covered ruins to digest his latest 'prey'
