MUSIC: Smoking Guns and Cigarettes - GUITAR THRASHING.
yes.
shred.
actually 2 attempts at the same song withdifferent riffs pieced together. you can probably notice it at like a little more than 1:30 thru the song, the bmp goes from 205 to 200 i think.
anyhow.
me playing guitar, programming everything else.
and all the off-tempo, crazy ass technical stuff isnt just me playing garbage, it's methodic-thought out, math-y stuff.
enjoy :)

There's not much to showcase guitar talent here, mostly just songwriting stuff. If you're interested in hearing more (and maybe buying my EP :D ) check out http://www.myspace.com/seekingsolaceband and message me here or there if you'd like a copy!
thanks :)

haha yeah they're about all you can hear in this one, pretty shod job on the mix.
anyhow, Ableton LIVE has an Impulse control tool that lets me use MIDI forms to trigger samples on my HD (.wav, .mp3, whatever) and then comressors, reverb, and EQ i add in groups (snare, kick, toms, cymbals all separate from eachother.)
The biggest thing is programming rolls and notes at different velocities, though. Lots of people lay down drum tracks and don't take the time to keep every note in a roll at the exact same volume, a task no drummer could pull off. Randomize, but keep it systematic (if that makes sense) and, regardless of the program you use, drums just sound more natural and its harder to tell that they're programmed.
