HeroOfMobius !
Cue the worst title of 2015 so far. Also, capital O.
Was a completely new spectrum for me to write on; romance stories. I'm not the guy with a peak for romance or love talk, but this was an interesting experience.
Enjoy!

Astin Estrelas muttered a few unintelligible phrases while looking at the ground with his hands folded behind his back as he passed by the park that he would visit every day at eight in the evening. It was the celestial cat’s favorite place to be , not just the dark, quiet atmosphere that distinguished it from any other district around, but also the fact that his own shaded appearance snuck him perfectly well into the background of any scene that the evening sky hung over. Astin made no effort in making a speedy glance around as he would always do around this time and place, namely because he had a lot of other thoughts on his mind that creeped over him for the largest portion of time. But when he made a turn around to quite literally make a walk in the park, he noticed a lugubrious figure that he had never seen there before.
It was quite an unusual sight. In spite of the looming, slick darkness, Astin could make out the blond color the figure had. Judging from his masculine posture, it was most likely a male. Just like Astin before he visited the park, he had his head drooped down to the ground, but it seemed he didn’t just do that because he was pondering a thought. It looked like something was bothering him, and he had presumably left to visit a quiet area where he could think about it with nobody to infringe on his thinking process. Or he was just passing by and had chosen to side himself away from all his personal anguish in the park. In either case, there was only one way for Astin to decipher this, though the person comprising the dolorous scene might surely get startled by his inadvertent disturbances and get frustrated with him. But Astin was determined to help the person. Everything he did was with benevolent intent, which gave him the confidence to walk closer to the figure and, perhaps, console him if such a thing would be necessary.
As Astin approached the park bench on which the gloomy person was sitting, still having his head aimed downwards in the shade of the night, he heard a deep sigh coming from the figure, which seemed to indicate that he did not want him to come near him.
“I-I’m sorry, but is something bothering you?”, Astin said timidly as to emanate a friendly approach, kneeling before the figure. This is where he saw that the person was a golden retriever, with his expressive blonde fur staring Astin right in the face.
“Yeah, but I can’t turn my hand around to explain all of it,” he said with a deep sigh. “Please just stay out of it.”
Astin turned around for a bit and sat down on the bench beside him. He was still incredibly curious as to what had led to his unfortunate gloomy attitude.
“Mind telling me your name?”, Astin said with his head turned around and looking the retriever straight in the eyes with his welcoming smile.
To Astin’s surprise, they pulled their drooped head from the ground and looked back at him, also straight in the eyes. Directly, Astin - and ostensibly the retriever as well - felt a feeling of intimate connection flutter through him.
“Errrm,” the retriever stuttered. “D-Dowski,” he said back in a much calmer voice. “Feel free to call me just Dowski.”
“If I’m becoming too much for you to handle, just tell me, okay?”, Astin said as to comfort Dowski more in case he needed it.
“N-No, it’s not like that,” Dowski said all of a sudden, seemingly not minding Astin’s presence at all. “You seem like a really nice person to get to know, unlike all that loud and uninteresting lot I’m confronted with on a regular basis,” he said as he leaned back against the wooden back of the bench, stretching his arms and folding them into each other. It looked as if Dowski had made a significant recuperation from his trauma from Astin’s presence alone, which in turn, also made Astin happy about the situation. He felt so connected to Dowski on a personal level, as well as their romantic chemistry, that he turned completely red from the inside.
“What a quick turn of events,” Astin thought by himself. “Am I really this influential?”
Before he could finish thinking about Dowski and what had prompted him to make this sudden U-turn, he felt a paw being rested on his right knee. It was Dowski’s. After all this, he had his own story to tell Astin and appeared to cast away his mental scar completely.
“Say- errm,” Dowski stammered as he felt unsure about his proposal. “What do you say if we meet here tomorrow, at the same time?”
Astin was astonished from the inside from Dowski’s idea. “Are you absolutely sure there’s nothing to bar us from doing that?” he responded with a loving laughter in his direction. He himself wasn’t completely sure if Dowski had gotten over his lugubrious state just now, but surely he wouldn’t have tried to make such a deal with Astin if he still was?
“Yes, Dowski,” Astin whispered. “I’d love to do that,” he said, placing his own paw on top of Dowski’s and lightly pressing down on it.
“I’m afraid it’s time for me to go then,” Dowski said determined. “I need to get some sleep, too, you know!” he said to Astin, smiling, as they parted ways and waited until tomorrow, when their time together would continue.
The next evening, Astin went out to the same park again to spot his lovable friend again. It was the same time, same moment and the same location, but everything felt ultimately different, and explicably so. A mere turn around a corner revealed Dowski sitting on the iconic park bench, waiting eagerly for Astin’s arrival. His excitement and feelings for Dowski strengthened as he progressively approached the entrance to the park. When the cat showed himself in the opening that marked the entrance, Dowski twinkled a warm smile from his face and lifted himself from the bench to welcome Astin with open arms.
“Yeeees!”, Astin yelled as he ran straight into Dowski’s arms. “I’m so happy you’re here!”
“So am I,” Dowski said with a laugh, beginning to scritch Astin’s head as he cradled him in his warm embrace. “If you forgive my downed self from the beginning,” he chuckled.
“Oh, it’s no problem,” Astin responded, bathing in the lovable moment with the wonderful Dowski.
Astin was still somewhat nudged by how Dowski was really feeling; if he had completely thrown his depressing load to the wayside. Otherwise he couldn’t really take full enjoyment in the time he spent - and would be spending - with him.
“And what about the hard things you’ve been dealing with lately?” Astin asked Dowski, curious to if he had actually overcome his gloomy mentality, as he placed a soft kiss on Dowski’s lips, followed by a tender nuzzle.
“Well, let’s officially consider that a thing of the past now,” Dowski said as he returned the nuzzle on Astin’s forehead.
Astin and Dowski continued to spend a little bit of romance together this way until the clock struck ten; the moment in which life-important things had to interfere with their romantic altercation. They would meet up every night, at the same park that had become eponymous to their ever strengthening relationship.
