Another one of the bust commissions I managed to snatch from
stabbings.
Do go drag your pretty eyes all over his page. For he deserves it.
This time it is of my other shadow elf wraith character, Dragan, who perished in a magical fire and now carries part of the said magical fire on his back which in turn fuels his rage and fury. Or is it the other way around so that the more pissed off he is, the brighter and stronger the flames burn? Not many can say for they usually end up as corpses.
Quick recap of what / who Dragan is:
Dragan was an aspiring student of magic but could not afford studying in the Academy of Magic due to the fact that he had been born to an family of elven farmers. Even though their family owned a few farm slaves, they weren't exactly as rich as those living in the few major cities of the island. Thusly, Dragan sought alternative ways for studying magic and found an unlicensed elf magician located not far from his home. Despite that, he moved to live with the said magician seeing as both his parents and the magician in question agreed to the arrangement.
Everything went quite smoothly for about a year, after which disaster struck. There was a reason why most magicians were licensed and that was due to the fact that no one man or woman could ever master all the magical elements. Usually, two mages worked together, boosting or keeping in check the abilities of the other mage. Licensing just made the whole process so much easier and prevented most if not all disasters related to the use of magic in the High Elf ruled society.
Spells that included fire were the weakness of Dragan's teacher. Yet his teacher was sure that with the help of Dragan, who showed great potential in terms of controlling fire and fire related spells, the two of them could study fire based magic without anything going wrong.
And then everything went wrong.
The hut they lived in caught fire in a magical fire which left anything not alive intact but scorched and hungered for the flesh of the living. Dragan was caught in a corner and begged for his teacher to push one of the bookshelves down so that he could use it as a way of escaping the fire. His teacher however was petrified and decided to leave Dragan to his own devices, running away from the hut with the screaming and curses of Dragan in his ears who slowly but surely perished in the fire.
After his death, Dragan found that the anger for betrayal he felt towards his teacher had prevented him from passing on to the afterlife and he found himself in the underworld instead. A part of the fire had followed him there as well, but it no longer burned him. Instead his own fury had binded with the fire and Dragan soon found out that not only could he conjure up a torrent of scorching fire forth from his arms, mouth and eyes, his fingernails had also transformed into talons which could melt their way through even the darkest and toughest rock in the underworld. Both being skills that he now utilizes under the service of Vergal Garghan, who summoned him and his new "friend", Boghos, some hundred or so years after he died in the fire and provided them with a deal that they simply could not refuse.
