Another chapter posted. I've decided to make  Kiya Drakon a full cast member of the second season :) And I think he'll fit in just fine. Everything is much more fun with my best friends involved. Digimon Defense force


After a couple of days of working on the island for Rex, both RD AND Jesse were called back into the Gym leader's office, standing beside him was a rather worn out Charizard, obviously having just flown back to the island "Well it took us awhile, but we finally found the dragon you two were searching for."

"Thanks, we really appreciate you finding him" RD said with a smile.

Rex nodded, motioning to the charizard standing beside him, a moment later it took off, leaving an envelope on Rex's desk "He was seen headed towards the ruins of Alph with another dragon. The charizard you saw just leave the room handled bringing the two of them to this island. Needless to say I don't think this Scav was very pleased at being summoned. He's downstairs in the west wing."

RD winced but gave a short nod as he went off to find him.

Jesse followed behind "Well...least we found him. Let's hope he won't be TOO upset."

Inside of the room Rex had indicated, SD was sitting opposite of his friend Kiya with nothing but a small table standing between them and a deck of pokemon cards on either side. "Our sightseeing may have been...interrupted but don't worry where we're going we'll have many more sights to see."

Kiya snickered a bit, placing a Nidorino onto his active pokemon's zone and reorganized the cards in his hand. "No biggie. It's always nice to experience new things."

It was only a few minutes later, and the doors swung open from their position, standing at their doorway was Jesse, and RD looking on at the game going on.

"I remember that but I only played the simulations, wasn't too good at the game myself" RD said watching the game play out.

SD turned his attention to the two walking in and nodded "Just something to pass the time. Let me guess...you both need a ride to the digital world." He selected a dragonite from his hand and placed it on the active pokemon zone "You do know...you might not come back to this world for awhile right?"

RD at Jesse then nodded "That was kind of the point"

Jesse scratched his cheek and nodded. "YEah...see we don't have any other way to get to the digital world. Only that we need to get there. Mind helping Scav?"

Scavenger took a deep breath, set his cards on the table and stood up, his companion doing the same a few seconds later "Well then I guess you're ready then. I sure hope the old man chose correctly..."

Jesse tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms. "What do you mean?"

Scavenger opened a portal infront of them, Kiya looked into the portal created by his companion before stepping in. "Well I'll explain once you see the changes for yourself." Scav jumped in next, kind of surprising Jesse but never the less he followed along, running into the portal Scav created.

RD followed closely behind, but wondered if Scavengerdragon was coming along with them, he simply was relieved that they could go to the digiworld now.

The journey between the worlds lasted longer than RD's last visit, for one it felt like they were free falling into space for what seemed like an hour, before each one of them landed on the ground with a thud it looked like a quiet peaceful meadow. Each blade of grass sparkled, but on closer inspection it was really the code running through them that gave them that brilliant shimmer. Scav pulled himself up to find that he had turned into an Agumon, the main difference was that instead of the typical yellow scales of the dino digimon, he retained his orange scales, as well as the blue underbelly. It didn't take much longer for Kiya to pull together either, except when he looked over himself he was much much smaller. He'd become a Dracomon! Same with RD but the two could easily be told apart by Kiya's Green scales and yellow belly, and RD's blue and white coloration.

RD was slightly dazed as he looked at everyone and was surprised, last time he didn't become a digimon, yet everyone who came here this time DID.

"First off...I'd like to introduce you both to my friend Kiya. Obviously...he's a dragon like us and a very good friend of mine." Kiya waved a claw and shook Jesse's hand and did the same with RD "Secondly...The digital world is in a state of crisis. The last few times I've come here I managed to retain my other world appearance thanks to the power of light that the old man protected me with, it was the same for you RD. But well he's already reaching the limits of his power, and as the digital world as it is now, anyone traveling to this world is automatically changed into this form...it helps prevent those with spacial magic like me from being able to create portals TO and FROM this world. Hence why I said this would be a long stay..."

"I wonder why there's such a huge crisis here?" RD wondered aloud "Ah well I'm a bit familiar with digiworld" RD screws up his face in thought "I think"

Scav chuckled a bit, scratching the top of his forehead with a claw "Remember Reapermon? Well it turns out he still lives even though Max and Jesse managed to delete him. What scattered made it's way to this world, to pollute it's inhabitants. What it seeks to do, is to create the darkness as it was originally intended, like it had centuries ago. Unfortunately...the old guilmon lacks the power to stop it this time...and if it reaches the same power it had back in his era let's just say even your prism dragon powers would be of no help. You could say...the situation in the human world was just the opening act...and the former Royal knight used the opportunity to scout out people from our world that could become the champions of this one."

RD looked down, he didn't like to go over his origins, there was a bunch of cursed magical artifacts, a dragon spirit wandering around for centuries, and some messed up ritual that had long sense been forbidden but that was neither here nor there "So that fight was also a scouting test?" RD asked, curious.

Scav nodded a few times "There was no way he could prevent it. So he took that opportunity to find those like you that could help this world. Even before reapermon was spawned into this world the darkness was still spreading it's seeds of doubt and discord throughout the world."

"hrm but how did he know about me" RD had to drop this bombshell or it would never get sorted out "I mean I didn't exist until roughly around ten years ago per say, and how long ago was he a royal knight? It makes sense for him to know about the rest of them, I mean, they were....them back then but how did he know about me before the fighting even started or when I first ran into Max?" RD just let the question hang for a minute

Scav shook his head, chuckling "He was a royal knight, one gifted in the power of light that the others couldn't quite master. But he had no idea who would step up to the plate. He simply let destiny play it's game, everyone that was there in that final showdown all met Max at one point or another. Some were influenced by Max's lineage and became digimon themselves...like you Jesse..." He nodded to the Loweemon "As well as Flare. Charmeleon just as well began soaking up his power like a sponge. As for you, none of us quite expected you to get involved. and I can only speculate that the old man knew of the spirit that made you the dragon you are today. But again it's only speculation."

"I guess the only way i'll find out is to ask him myself but it's strange, when I first became what I am, my light powers...weren't even that....I couldn't even DO those things that I did at the time.....in fact....saying that such a thing would be 'beyond' me would be a fairly accurate statement" RD said nodding "However me and my spirit have been practicing....light and darkness are everywhere, common fact, without either there's a vacuum, and he dropped a disturbing bombshell on me....you know what a 'knight templer' is?" RD waved a dismissive claw "Nevermind, what i'm saying is, there was a group of prism dragons that...were much worse than the knight templers, the 'my way or the highway' sort of people. From what I heard, they sacked ten kingdoms, slaughtered kings as well as peasants and only cared about whatever mission they thought they had. The reason whatever created me was forbidden? The creation of light that was made was so drunk on power that not only did he annihilate the entire faction like it was nothing, it then turned on the people who were counting on it" RD shook his head "And the whole time he was still considered a creature of light"

SD nodded, taking a deep breath "Indeed, There is no clear direction of right or wrong. You need only look at the forms Jesse and Delta took to see that much. Jesse inherited the spirit of darkness, yet he used it in his own sense of justice. Delta used the spirit of light in hopes to renew the world, a twisted desire but one he considered to be pure. Both can become twisted if put in the wrong hands. There's a natural darkness and one that distorts...same with the light."

RD was in complete agreement. "Too much of one or the other could prove disastrous, at least with some kinds of darkness you know what you're dealing with, light can bend, light can distort, sometimes light isn't all it appears to be, light is what's needed for optical illusions, too much darkness you can't see, too much light...you don't even want to open your eyes because of the pain"

Scav laughed, and held his hands out, two orbs of light enveloping them "I completely agree. That's why for the duration of your stay here you need to remain aware of yourselves. During the first visit with the old man he bestowed these upon me. for me to give to the three that would accompany me to help save this world. It's proof that you're part of the Digimon Defense Force, or DDF...it'll also allow you to digivolve once you've met the right requirements..." The light quickly split from his hand into three fragments, one hovering above RD, another to Jesse and the last to Kiya who leapt up to catch it in his hand, it actually looked kind of cute to see the small digimon leap up to snatch up the light, however once he did, it formed into a digivice in his paws.

RD blinked as he was this and took the light into his hand too, another digivice "Digimon Defense Force huh? Sounds like some sort of digiworld military force. Will there be tankmon?" RD joked, smirking.

ScavengerDragon: Scavenger laughed, watching the last digivice form in Loweemon's hand then revealed his own that he'd been storing within himself. "The force consists of just 8 members. Our group and Max's. The Royal knights don't consider this to be a major threat yet so they're sitting on their haunches and observing the mess as it unfolds. thus the reason we're here."

RD rolled his eyes in annoyance as he heard this "If there's anything I learned by watching too much tv, playing too many video games or anything like that it's that a crisis gets out of control when those in power do nothing. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT FUNDAMENTALS OF FIGHTING!!" RD suddenly roared

Scavenger nodded, taking a deep breath as he held a claw up to calm down RD. "Heh yeah believe me, I understand your frustrations. This could all be avoided if they just took care of it themselves. However if they had been doing their jobs correctly in the first place Max's grandfather wouldn't have been stripped of his rank and he wouldn't have lost the ability to digivolve. I believe this is where we'll part ways though. Kiya and I will go do our own scouting. I'm sure you two already have your own mission."

RD blinked as he looked at Jesse "Yeah in a way" RD nodded at Jesse "It won't be easy though"

Jesse nodded, looking around "It won't be...I think what we should do first is ask around and find out where digi eggs form themselves after conversion."

Folding his arms, RD smirked and waved a claw in the air. I know this isn't the TV show...but didn't digimon who were reborn come out of a place called primary village? And it was run by an Elecmon.

Jesse blinked, before nodding "Well we didn't have TV where Max and I are from so I wouldn't have known. But we still don't know where that primary village is. We don't even know where we ARE in the digital world. for all we know we could be on a whole different continent from Max and the others."

RD hadn't thought of that, and shifted from foot to foot. "True enough..."

Jesse was just about to ask Scav their wherabouts but they had already gone "Hmmm guess it's just the two of us now. Comeon we better do some walking heh...Surely there much be a primary village in every corner of this world otherwise it'd get pretty crowded. Just gotta ask where this regions is."

"Yeah but wouldn't it be odd for digimon to ask where they are, still it makes sense" RD pointed out with a raised claw.

"Well...yeah. I guess it would be a bit odd. But we could always say that we're from another continent of this world, surely they wouldn't expect foreigners to know where Primary village is."

"That's very true so we can say we're from another place...." RD groaned "Wish we had a map though"

Jesse blinked, looking at the digivice in his hand "Well...don't these things usually have a map feature...I mean my pokegear did."

: "Yeah they should, at the very least a mini-map. Of course then comes the question of knowing what....RD pressed buttons until he came upon what could be a map ....these blinking dots are supposed to be"

Jesse blinked, tapping on the same buttons to find the same blinking dots on the map "I...really wouldn't know...maybe other digimon?"

With the idea of a digimon in the area, RD grinned "In that case let's go to them, but hide the digivices, remember we're two traveling digimon....I wonder if they'll buy it that I'm your pet or something, you are a higher digivolutionary level then me"

Jesse smiled and held the digivice in an armored gauntlet "That shouldn't be too hard!" Just as he said that, his digivice dissapeared, as did RD's out of thin air "Even so my form is from the spirit of darkness. You're a full fledged digimon and quite frankly I don't understand any of this."

"Neither do I, do we just think about it or what?" With a shrug, RD started walking in the direction he last saw the blip on his digivice. "Let's go that way, that's where the digivice pointed"

"Sounds good to me. how about you lead the way?" He gave his arms and legs a good stretch then took off after him.

RD nodded, running in that direction, stopping every so often to make sure Jesse was with him

Jesse was following along, running after RD and making sure not to lose track of him, for such a small body, RD was awfully quick "You know...considering Max's pops was a growlmon I wonder what the rest of them will be like..if they'll be as aggressive or something else."

"I have no idea, the original in the series was naïve but when he saw another digimon he attacked" The Rainbow bellied dracomon smirked as he recalled many different instances in the anime with the guilmon.

"Well it sounds like it...I mean that was Max's personality growing up and still is...naive but can be prone to attacking if someone pushes the right buttons...oooh...I think we just found a digimon..." He pointed forward to a sillouette in the distance

RD hopped forward, his gait was so much like guilmon's it was cute

Jesse blinked, trying not to laugh as he followed, he wondered what kind of digimon it would be but found that it was an Elecmon just as RD had mentioned beforehand "Oh! I didn't think anybody came through this meadow but me!"

RD tripped and fell on his face, slightly embarrassed "Oh hi, we're looking for primary village"

The Elecmon laughed, watching RD trip and face plant "Oh...you must be new around here...Well...if you keep going south west from here you'll come across it...just cross the next town. Oh but be careful...the primary villages have become...eerie as of late."

RD winced as he turned and looked at Jesse "In what way?"

Jesse blinked, looking down to hear the Elecmon's explaination "Most digimon that have come from there changed...Before conversion they were nice...friendly to get along with but there are some that when they came back they just...became nasty in personality..."

"That's...not good" RD nodded at Jesse "But southwest right? Ok thank you very much"

Jesse nodded, giving a short bow to the Elecmon who just smiled "You're welcome. If you both need a place to stay, there's a Rosemon that owns a tavern in town errr...do you guys even have any bits?"

RD and Jesse looked at each other "Er...no, we're planning on sleeping outside"

Elecmon cringed when he heard that "Alright then...Try not to stray too far in wooded areas after dark then." He warned, before he gave them a wave

RD left on the way to primary village "I....do not like the sound of that"

Jesse followed right behind him "Well...Scav did say strange things were happening in the digital world...I guess once we see primary village we'll know exactly what he meant. If we're all supposed to be part of the Digimon Defense Force then it'll be our job to try and repair whatevers going on to the village."

"Right let's get to work" RD said smiling, heading southwest in the direction of primary village.


Meanwhile, Scav was leading Kiya through the lush grasslands, occasionally passing by a crowd of Koromon or Palmon. "Why did you choose me exactly Scav? I heard your explaination about there being only eight members of the defense force, and seven out of the eight went through that scouting test. But I'm the odd one out, I wasn't even there to begin with so why'd you pick me?" Kiya asked with all curiosity, digivice still in hand as they followed the on board map.

"Why? Well when the old man founded this defense force it was to be a last stand, the final measure against the darkness. It was also a way of forming his own royal knights and I was his main form of reconnaissance . It was my job to select people who could truely help his cause. And believe it or not I believe you're the last piece of the puzzle, the one that can put everything to a close." Scavenger smiled, placing a clawed hand over Kiya's shoulder, nuzzling him. "As a friend I can already see your potential, heck my powers as a dragon gave me a clear view of your soul and your intentions from the first day we met. Just from that first meeting I knew you were someone to be trusted."

"Woah! Breath bud." Kiya laughed, patting Scav's back as he took a few deep breaths, it was a pretty lengthy explaination and one that seemed to satisfy the Dracomon. "I'm honored that you'd select me as the last member, I hope I won't let you down. What's our first order of buisness though?"

Scav stood straight, making sure they weren't being followed and smirked. "YOu couldn't let me down if you tried. As for our first mission, We need to make our way to the Smithy village. I'm sure Mr. Smithy would like to know about his nephew's developement plus...he'd be the one to go to if we're going to figure anything out about our NEW anatomy. I mean...I'm a Dinosaur and you're a small dragon, we won't be much use to anyone if we can't defend ourselves with the abilities that come along with our appearance!"

With a nod, Kiya nuzzled Scavenger in return and they were off on their way to look for the Smithy village.
