heh, and you thought the unending stream of bad monster hunter vore had stopped...
So where do you think purple royal ludroth come from? There's no regular purple ludroth. Turns out wroggi aren't particularly pleasant to eat, being poisonous means they cause crippling indigestion in most predators, as Royal Spongebob here isn't very keen to demonstrate.
The wroggi will reform if you believe in magic hard enough.
I was going to do a Nargacuga vore pic before finishing Taluthus' request, but I had some trouble drawing it, then this happened. I'll probably try doing that one again some time later.

Better a Wroggi than a Great Wroggi XD
Rheee, poor guy has indigestion, should ask for a bit of assistance hehe.
I figure the lil wroggi will reform eventually, but nothing says he has to reform as his own species now does it? ;P

I'm sure he can send one of his ludroth subordinates to get some help (if ludroth can be "royal", would the collective noun of ludroth be a court, or an entourage of ludroth?)
Maybe eating a great wroggi is how purple ludroth come about, though I imagine the transition from yellow to purple is not a comfortable one.
I think reformation would be fairly consistent, though perhaps a jaggi might reform as a great jaggi, or a rathian as a pink rathian.

Perhaps there's still some luck involved, where even if you were a very successful predator in your current form there's a chance you might not "rank up" and a small chance of ranking down regardless of how well you did. Suddenly you regain consciousness and you're a *** star monster instead of a **** star one! :O
Maybe you'd be more likely to retain your current form/rank if you were eaten by something as strong or stronger than you, and have a higher chance of de-ranking if you were taken down by something weaker than you.

I suddenly like the idea of a fatalis having a string of bad luck and ending up as a remobra. They do look kind of similar.
For real though, I think members of a species would only change subspecies, or in the case of raptors, become a drone/great. Hard luck for jaggia though, since great jaggi and royal ludroth are always male.

Literally the first thing that came up when googling its name was its wiki-article, and I threw in a cute pic from DA just because reasons :3
Apparently he's one of the earliest monsters, along with the iconic Rathies. ^^

oh dear, I was just going for some mild self deprecation in an attempt to appear modest. I don't hate the stuff I do, I just acknowledge I'm an amateur and have low expectations, meaning I rarely disappoint myself.
