The Land of Ooo, is a very wide place and we've only see a small part of an ever expanding world. So who's to say there aren't a few humans left in the world, or at least those that haven't been severely mutated by nuclear fall out. And if that's true where would they be? The most secluded and isolated of areas perhaps? In this case, maybe off an island, living each day in paradise with a nice cooler full of soda, living each day, floating amongst the gentle Sea Lards who spend most of their time just floating and moving around doing nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps it's the path to inner peace or just waiting until the currents drift to a new more adventurous shore.
