Hunched in a soggy alleyway, Xyk considers his most recent take. The ornate box had caught his eye, and he had grabbed it without a second thought. Surely these… things… are valuable, then? Right?
1 part of 3 in a “Day in the Life” series by the amazing Jennadelle.
I asked J to fast-forward Xyk’s world into a near-future setting, and she did the rest!
I am completely enthralled by these pieces and the vision they portray. What I love most is how Xyk seems to have aged alongside his surroundings -- albeit in a timeless and very “coyote” sort of way, of course. Though even more spindly and scruffy now, he is still every bit the thieving trickster as always, ever on the prowl for that next heist, that next play, and that next meal.
