I was very lucky to go through the harder teenage years (15-17) with Victoria Everglot as a heroine to look up to. While I bounced hard between Emily and Victoria, as an adult I can definitely side with this girl the most.....despite growing up in Edwardian England where she's expected to just go with the arranged marriages, keep her mouth shut and let the man do the talking, not allowed to read, not allowed to play the piano, there was a lot of resilience and "girl power" to ignore society and do whatever it takes to save Victor....it stinks that we never got to see them after Emily finally lets him go, and the film was just too short, you really didn't get to see much of Victoria, but she still has a soft spot in my heart.
When I saw her puppet up close at the Tim Burton Exhibition in Melbourne I just about cried :P its rare a character that can do that to me. Her puppet is actually gorgeous and the film's STOPMA so fluid and almost breathtaking at moments.
