Who doesn’t remember Battletoads? The game was so hard you had to have hyper-fast reflexes to beat the game!
It sequel “Battlemaniacs” was no exception with stages that remixed some of the original games stages, but it wasn’t as hard IMO.
The music though rocked! The Battletoads series always had a hard rock theme that matched the insane difficulty, which is why I’d like to see the game make a comeback. There’s just one problem with that though, Rare owns Battletoads, Microsoft owns Rare. Battletoads would be perfect for the PSP, but thanks to Microsoft, that’ll never happen! Man, I wish Rare was a third-party developer!
EDIT: I re-recorded the song in Nestopia!

Perhaps the two easiest games in the series were “Battletoads and Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team” and “Super Battletoads” because in both games, if you died, you did not get sent back to the last checkpoint you crossed, you would respawn near where you died, and in Super Battletoads you could also respawn where you died after you used a credit since it was an arcade game that allowed you to join the action at any point.
The original was definitely the hardest!

Tell me about it! The missiles are also a pain in the ass! >_<
They fire at random instead of a pattern so you can’t memorize the sequence like you can with the rest.
The music was great though.
I miss Battletoads so much! U_U If only I had a billion dollars, I’d buy them from Microsoft and have work begin on a PSP remake of the original game that would allow you to play as all three toads.
I’d also release the complete series on Wii VC, as well as an HD version of “Super Battletoads” on PSN.
